Jess Mullen

Director of Influence & Communications - Clinks

Jess joined Clinks in 2012 and leads Clinks work to promote the work and value of the voluntary sector in criminal justice and ensure policy change is informed by the sector’s knowledge and expertise.

Jess is Clinks’ strategic lead on tackling race inequality in the criminal justice system, she authored the Young Review’s final report and sits on the EQUAL Independent Advisory Group and HMPPS External Advice and Scrutiny Panel for the implementation of the Lammy Review

Jess has worked in the voluntary sector for 15 years in a variety of roles, all of which have focused on supporting and empowering disadvantaged groups to have their voices heard and needs met including developing policy at the Community Development Foundation; service development and community engagement for the British Red Cross international tracing and message services; and capacity building and infrastructure support to refugee and migrant community organisations. Jess is also a trustee of Hackney Council for Voluntary Service.
